NEWS: The IFAB's 2026/2027 Laws of the Game include changes to substitutions, injury treatment and video reviews. Key updates include: (A) a ten-second limit for substituted players to leave the field, with exceptions for safety, security or injury; exceeding the limit delays the substitute's entry until the first stoppage after one minute of play (B) a one-minute period off the field after play restarts for players assessed or treated on the field, subject to specified exceptions (C) VAR reviews for clearly incorrect second yellow cards leading to a red card and expanded mistaken-identity cases (D) an option for competitions to allow immediate VAR correction of wrongly awarded corner kicks without delaying the restart (E) permission for safely covered, non-dangerous accessories.
